Mission

The International Neva Award recognizes published works that has made substantial contribution to the scholarship, education and popularization of the communication field. The award is designed to stimulate scientific research in the field of journalism and communication, to increase the level of scientific, methodological, and popular publications on media issues as well as to celebrate the outstanding achievements in this field.


The Higher School of Journalism and Mass Communications of St. Petersburg State University, one of the two most significant media research schools in Russia, grants the Neva Award annually.

Who may nominate:

  • an organization or an individual
  • one person or a team
  • universities and other educational institutions, scientific organizations, departments or departments
  • self-nomination of award applicants is possible
